May long
So I realized that I am getting old. This May long weekend I happily spent with my best friend (Doug) and his girlfriend (Veronica) at his grandparents place out in Creston. I had an awesome time playing baseball, looking at antique cars, taste-testing chili in the chili cook-off, drinking a jug of Kokanee Gold on the patio with him and his grandma, watching the Oilers win game 2 of the series against Anaheim and to top it all off we spent an unusually large amount of time scooting around town on these things:

So much fun! And the looks that we got... Anyways, the reason I got onto this. Instead of being dismayed that I was missing all the action at the party spot at the typical campground this past weekend, I was more than happy to chill out with my best friend. In fact when he called me to suggest the itinerary for the weekend I lept at the oppurtunity and was relieved in a small sort of way that I didn't feel obligated to go out to the party spot for the weekend. Maybe it's just me, maybe it's something else. I really believe that God is fulfilling some of the desires of my heart that I don't have to be looking elsewhere to satisfy them.
P.S. Due to the Oilers amazing run in the playoffs and some other extraneous factors, there will be a return of the beard (at least in some sort)! Sooner than I expected but what can I say? It's addicting once you start.
